The day has been great it started with a 3 mile run, then off to a date with Johnna, then picked up the little monsters from school in the Scout 2 and stopped at the local ice cream shop "Sweet Tooth". After some scoops we got home and had a real nice low key family time with breakfast for dinner and legos as the activity of the night. Legos seem to have gotten so much more depthy, it took a while but we got it done. Fun stuff! This is the first week of the blog and it has been a good one. I am normally not this positive but the blog has really helped me be intentional in noticing the small blessings in my life and that is on of the main things that I wanted The Simple Junk to do. Next week will hopefully be just as positive and I will start talking more about more of the creative stuff going on in my life!

You are making a great point in your blog.
ReplyDeleteIt is natural and easy to focus on the things we don't have. It takes effort to recognize our many great blessings.
I was going through a whiny stage ten to fifteen years ago and it hit me that no one had ever tried to kill me.
For much of the history of this world our level of safety was rarely reached or kept for so long.
And too often people's lives were short, hard and at constant risk of starvation.
I would rather be alive today in my middle class life than to be a king in England five hundred years ago.
